What information we collect

  • Your name, email address, phone number, postal address and (if you choose to give it) your date of birth.
  • Details of your pets, such as name, type, breed, date of birth, sex, neutering status, food preferences, allergies, dietary requirements and any notes you give us.
  • Your loyalty account activity, including purchases and rewards collected in store.
  • Your marketing preferences and consent records.
  • Messages you send us through our contact form, by email or by phone.
  • Basic technical and analytics information when you use this website (see Cookies and analytics below).

How we use your information and our lawful bases

  • To create and manage your Dabners loyalty account and administer the loyalty scheme, including maintaining information about you and your pets — our legitimate interests in running the scheme you asked to join, and performance of our agreement with you.
  • To give you advice and recommendations suited to your pets — our legitimate interests in serving customers well.
  • To send you marketing emails or texts — your consent, which you can withdraw at any time.
  • To answer enquiries you send us — our legitimate interests in responding to customers.
  • To meet legal and accounting obligations — compliance with a legal obligation.

Who we share it with

We share your information with service providers who help us operate the loyalty scheme and our shop, including our EPOS (till) and technology providers, our website and hosting providers, and our email and messaging providers. These providers act on our instructions under written contracts and may not use your information for their own purposes. We may also disclose information where we are required to do so by law. We do not sell your personal information.

International transfers

Some of our providers may process information outside the UK. Where they do, we rely on appropriate safeguards such as UK adequacy regulations or the International Data Transfer Agreement / Addendum.

How long we keep it

We keep your loyalty account information for as long as your account is active and for up to 24 months after your last purchase or contact with us, after which it is deleted or anonymised. Records we must keep for tax or legal reasons are held for the period the law requires. Consent records are kept for as long as needed to show we handled your preferences correctly.

This website uses cookies and similar technologies, including Google Analytics and Google Tag Manager, to understand how the site is used and to improve it. You can control cookies through your browser settings.

You have the right to:

  • Ask for a copy of the personal information we hold about you.
  • Ask us to correct information that is wrong or incomplete.
  • Ask us to delete your information, or restrict how we use it.
  • Object to processing based on our legitimate interests.
  • Ask us to transfer your information to you or another provider (data portability).
  • Withdraw your consent to marketing at any time, without affecting anything done before you withdrew it.

To exercise any of these rights, email contact@dabnerscaterham.co.uk or speak to us in store. We will respond within one month.
